Engraved gifts with the name Palin to become popular?
The number of engraved gifts boasting the name Palin could rise after new research showed it is becoming an increasingly popular name.
According to a study by BabyCenter.com, the number of mothers giving their newborns this name tripled from 2008 to 2009.
The spike is attributed to the rise to prominence of former Alaska governor Sarah Palin.
In 2008 there were three Palins per million newborns but by 2009 this has surged to 20, the website stated.
In addition, the number of mums naming their child Barack also jumped, although it is still rarer than Palin.
Laura Wattenberg, author of Baby Name Wizard, told the Today show that she would be surprised if this trend carried on in the long term.
Myleene Klass recently gave birth to another baby girl and may have received engraved gifts with her name - Hero - inscribed on them.
The singer gave birth to the child on March 26th.
